After 19 years of working on 1967-1970 Mercury Cougars as a hobby, and not being satisfied with the products available and their quality, a decision was made in 2005 to start Critter Creek Cougar Restorations. A signature component of the Mercury Cougar is the hide-away headlights that operate on a vacuum system. Mr. VacuumMan decided since he didn’t like what was out there, he should just do it himself, but better.

So began the process of recreating the 1967-68 Vacuum Actuators to maintain their authentic function with today's more durable products. Soon, many aspects of the vacuum system were overhauled and improved upon, maintaining the authenticity for a concours restoration. Mr. VacuumMan holds the patents and tooling to rebuild

In addition to offering reproduction parts, Critter Creek Cougar Restorations prides itself on its reputation for its quality restoration of original parts. Many hours go into re-chroming, hand painting, and polishing to make the original part look like it just came off the assembly line of its era.
