Power Brake Booster- 1967/69 Mercury Cougar-MIDLAND-Concours-Restored. We have them rebuilt in North America. The Midland brand booster was used in 1967-68, and on some early 1969 models, and has better stopping capability than the 1969-70 Bendix booster. However the life cycle is approximately 10 years, as the design was not as reliable as the later Bendix 1969 – 1970 models. The Midland and 1969 Bendix both have “Tear drop’ shafts. You can use a 1969 Bendix on your 1967 – 1968 as an exact fit replacement but you cannot use a 1970 (straight shaft) on a 1967 to 1969 without changing the brake pedal as well. There is a $300 core charge on this item as rebuildable cores become more rare. It is refundable if a complete rebuildable MIDLAND (same model/year) core is provided.
